Today I get the sentiment behind framing your first dollar. This article is my way of expressing gratitude for the support I am receiving.
Today, I am excited and proud. I published my first article as part of Medium’s Paid Partnership program, AND I received a tip via Buy Me a Coffee! I’m all about celebrating small victories, and this is a double whammy! A big shout out and thank you to Stephanie Trinker for your support! It feels really special to have someone believe in and appreciate my writing enough to tip me $5!
This is the first income I have received from my writing, and it feels very special.
I recall passing by a street vendor in Kathmandu, Nepal in the early morning and they expressed that making the first sale of the day is very important. Landing your first sale is auspicious and sets the tone for the success of your day. Or course, this vendor had an incentive in telling me this information, but I obliged in assisting them successfully make their first sale of their day. And now, it seems to have come full circle. My first story published under the paid program has landed me a tip! Yay!
