Chapter 2: The solitary Hue

In Chapter 1, we last left our huero, 1, in the middle of the Hue Village, holding the remains of her huesband, 2, and vowing revenge.

Whoever did this is going to pay!

1 was the oldest of all the Hues.

She was huenique — the only Hue that had ever been well and truly alone.

Though in hueman time, her solitude lasted only two minutes, Hues experience time very differently than us.

So for her, the solitude lasted a long, long time.

It may have felt like years.

But, in spite of being alone, it was a time of happiness and wonder!

For you see, 1 was fearless. A born adventurer.

Her very first thought was:

I want to run!

And immediately, she did.

Racing on her little feet to the four corners of her world.

North… East… South… West…

Everywhere she went, the land was always GREEN like her hair and the sky was always PINK — stuck in a forever dawn.

And as she ran, the GREEN unfolded under her legs. As if the world was expanding just for her!

She ran for days, weeks, months, years…

Searching for new feelings, experiences, colors.

And while she ran, her thoughts ran too...

Why is the land green like my hair?
Am I running on the head of a giant ?
Am I running on top of my own head?

But in all her travels alone, she only ever found three more colors.

The first was the biggest surprise of her life!
