At the end of 2018 I put together 5 lists on Twitter of over 100 VC firms based in London working across the pre-seed to Series A+ categories. The original blog post did harness some interest so this will be a series of 7 articles going into detail and listing all the funds within each category. This is Part 6that focuses on funds that offer Series A, B, C etc investment, because of the number of such funds the article will be divided into a few parts.

Accel Partners

Active Partners

Conditions they invest under: they invest into startups raising between £4M to £15M

What are they looking for: consumer brands, including restaurants, eyewear and active wear.

Portfolio companies: 15+

Advent Ventures

Official description: Advent Venture Partners is one of Europe’s most successful growth and venture capital investors in market-leading tech and life sciences businesses. They have designed their strategy, teams and funds so they can focus on backing a select few companies. Conditions they invest under: they invest into startups raising between £12M and £66M

What are they looking for: tech and life science businesses

Portfolio companies: 42 life science companies + 20 tech companies, 31 exits

Amadeus Capital Partners

Official description: Amadeus Capital is a global technology investor that invests in technology companies at all stages, from seed to venture buyout; they also buy stakes from other investors or founders, to ensure that companies and entrepreneurs have the runway they need to succeed. They invest in a broad variety of sectors including enterprise and infrastructure software, consumer and business services, medical technology and healthcare IT, and cleantech and resource efficiency.

What are they looking for: enterprise and infrastructure software, consumer and business services, medical technology and healthcare IT, and cleantech and resource efficiency.

Portfolio companies: 130+, 38 exits.

Atomico

Official description: Atomico is a venture capital firm specializing in seed, startup, Series A, early venture, mid venture, late venture, emerging growth, and growth capital investments. It does not invest in American companies. (via Crunchbase)

Balderton Capital

Beringea

Founded in 1988, the firm currently has more than 60 portfolio companies in a range of emerging sectors, including media, health care and life sciences, Internet technologies, advanced manufacturing, clean tech and specialized consumer goods. Blenheim Chalcot

Official description: They have since built over 40 businesses in a variety of sectors, including IT services and outsourcing, financial services, education, travel, software, sport and media. Today, their companies have sales of over £350m and employ in excess of 3000 people.
