Dear World,

This is youtube version from our film, the title “Gedung Buruk The Movie” or we can called this with “Poor Building”. In this version, movie duration 30 minutes, different from “feature length version” which 79 minutes duration. We share this, just for flashback at 2015 when we made this film. Which background story was transition Indonesian’s President from SBY to Jokowi.

POOR BUILDING PART 1 (YOUTUBE)

This is fiction story, but based on reality in that place. We create this movie with “Single Location Style” and improve our basic story with real condition. There are many different parts from feature length and this youtube version, cause we know, upload in youtube means sharing for mobile phone audiences. That’s the reason why we use “big size font” for english subtitle.

The story tells about a boy who name Gessha. Gessha have a future goal to be President. But he ashamed, because in his class, president’s photo still SBY (not Jokowi). And that photo looks scary (specially for Vice President’s photo), make Gessha want to change his goal. In Gessha’s imagination, if he realize his goal to be President (one day), his photo will be scary like that. He doesn’t want this situation. He want his photo look good.

Different from his friend (ilham) which have future goal to be Train’s Driver. Ilham can play “train” with other friends. Gessha want to change his goal cause “too scary to be President”.

I guess, this movie taste like ironic. For the first time in our life, making movie with unpredictable taste. When we come to that place, we just want to make simple movie with genre comedy. Something like slapstick, or action style like kids film. But when we finish this movie, its feeling us guilty. You can watch from the part “Salt Fish” and ilham point of view about President’s food. This is naive and ironic.

If you ask, how much we create this movie? This movie we made with all of our heart. We don’t know how many times we spend for this movie and how much budget? Sometime we talk about nominal, but now, that’s not important for us. We can finish and show this feature length version (2 times), that’s make “Poor Building The Movie” so special. You know, we just village filmmaker (people said Underground Filmmaker).
