Will Gears of War: E-Day Have Multiplayer? Most Likely Yes!
The creative director of Gears of War: E-Day was asked about the possibility of featuring multiplayer mode.
The trailer for Gears of War: E-Day shown by The Coalition and Microsoft at the Xbox Showcase may not have been in-game footage, but it certainly got fans excited.
One question that remains is whether this Gears of War: E-Day will retain the Gears multiplayer mode. Creative Director Matt Searcy didn’t explicitly confirm this, but his comments certainly point in that direction.
He hinted that E-Day will be a “mainline Gears game”, and given the established DNA of the series, multiplayer modes are a natural expectation. This means that fans can probably look forward to a return of the action-packed gameplay that Gears is known for.
The interview also touched on the story arcs of Gears 4 and 5, leaving some fans wondering about the future of their narrative. The Coalition reassured them that they are not abandoning those storylines.
“We’re focused on this and pouring everything we can into it right now, what the next game is will be for us to decide in the future,” Searcy said. Brand Director Nicole Fawcette added, “We’re not retreating from the stories of Gears 4 and 5, though. We just spent time thinking about the stories we want to tell, and we can flex the franchise from both sides. We’re excited about telling this story, and hopefully, fans will love this story too.”
Gears of War: E-Day is coming to Xbox and PC on a yet-to-be-announced date.
