A life of a cat — Chapter 2: Escape

This is a story my daughter is working on. As such, the following is a direct transcription of her draft for chapter 2. You can find chapter 1 here.
As soon as I got out, I was amazed with color. Streets, houses, everything! I soon saw a cat laying by the street. She's dead, I thought. Just when I touched her on the paw, she spread her eyes wide open, and let a loud screech leave her mouth. As I squealed in terror, the cat fell on her back, cackling. "It's a joke! You know what I mean, jelly bean?". After that, Delilah (her name) and I were buds!
