Ma Lakshmi the Goddess of Wealth be,
Material fortune, beauty, power, luxury,
Material fulfillment, contentment, fertility,
And auspiciousness and full of prosperity.

Restless, whimsical yet maternal does be,
With Her arms raised to bless Her devotee,
And to grant Her blessings unhesitatingly,
Her expression always calm and loving surely.

Ma Lakshmi bedecked with gold ornaments be,
And She be draped in a gorgious red saree,
She seated on lotus, pot in hand certainly,
Flanked by white elephants huge and mighty.

Her four hands ever characterizes in reality,
Four ends of the human life ever completely,
Linked with lotus in mud ever blooming be,
With evil below still rises saintly power, purity.

Lakshmi’s front hands physical world activities be,
Her back hands spiritual actions for perfection fully,
One for virtue, the other genuine desire rightfully,
Third for wealth, fourth for the birth and death liberty.

Lakshmi rides Owl which sees in dark — it future be,
She Bhrigu, Khyaati daughter, resided in Swarg firstly,
Due to Durvasa’s curse, left to live in the sea sadly,
Appeared after Samudra manthan, wed Vishnu finally.

Lakshmi the power and Maya of Lord Vishnu dose be,
She in Bhudevi, Sridevi form on either side of Vishnu be,
Bhudevi fertility form — She is Mother Earth graciously,
Sridevi — wealth, knowledge is seen with Narayan surely.

Lakshmi beautiful and bountiful aspect of nature does be,
As Goddess of Earth, she nurtures natural life abundantly,
As Fortune goddess, bestows power, pleasure, prosperity,
To grasp her, one must revere life’s laws and wonders truly.
