How do you maintain a balanced life? Do you have some rituals to stay fit despite your busy schedule? And what are they?

At this age, it can be a challenge to live a balanced life. Especially for those who live and work in a large capital city. Having lived in both places, small and big cities. I realize how much the lifestyles of people in both cities differ.

Sometimes there is not enough time in a day to do all the lists on the agenda. Although they are aware of how important a healthy lifestyle is and the company has provided it for them.

God has given all ous both the mind and the heart. And He fully expects us to use them.” ― R. Alan Woods

If you are having a hard time maintaining a balanced life, here are 8 simple ways to take care of your body, mind, and spirit:

1. Eat healthy foods and drinks

What kind of foods do you eat? Do you eat healthy foods or instant foods? Do you cook your food or buy it from outside? When I used to work from 9–5, I found that most employees struggle to eat healthily during their lunch break. During this time, they spend their time in the office or working outside the home.

If you can not eat healthy during lunch break. Try to eat healthy for breakfast or dinner to provide your body with nutrients. The source of this can be the foods you like. For example, oatmeal, whole grains, juice, fruit, etc. In another way, you can eat and drink some supplements to complete your nutrition.

2. Exercises 2–3x / week

Do you have time for exercise? How often do you do it? One of the benefits of exercise is it can improve your mood. Also gives you more clarity, and brings a fresh perspective. Looking good and being healthy is a side effects.

Exercising isn’t about having a gym membership and joining an aerobics class. It can be more than that. If you don’t have time to attend a class, you can do a simple exercise ritual. It can be stretching, plank, jogging before work, etc. There are many types of exercises you can do at home or in your spare time.

“Exercise not only changes your body, but it changes your mind, your attitude, and your mood.” — Unknown

3. Drink enough water

How many glasses of water do you drink every day? Drinking enough water every day is important for your health and well-being. It can prevent dehydration, flush out toxins, increase energy, improve concentration, etc.

The amount of water each person needs varies. It depends on how active they are and their state of health. According to everydayhealth.com, men and women need at least 2–3 liters of fluid per day. The sources of fluids also can come from fruits and vegetables. It can be a great source of water.

“Where the waters do agree, it is quite wonderful the relief they give.” ― Jane Austen

4. Prayer and meditation

When is the best moment for you to learn or find ideas? In a hectic and hurried moment or a quiet and calm situation? Prayer and meditation can help you clear and calm your mind.

It is one of the best methods to improve your intuition. Also, it brings self-awareness and wisdom into your life. Prayer and meditation can be the bridge to connecting with a higher power. It can reduce your negative emotions, fears, anxieties, etc.

5. Sleep well and rest well

Are you getting enough sleep and rest? How many hours do you sleep each night? Not getting enough sleep and rest regularly increases your risk for many diseases and disorders.

Sleep and rest are essential for every process in our body. They give us time to recharge. Getting enough sleep and rest can improve our mental health, reduce stress and improve concentration. It is the same as our phone, it needs to be recharged when the battery is dropped and empty.

“True silence is the rest of the mind and is to the spirit what sleep is to the body, nourishment, and refreshment.” — William Penn

6. Avoid negative news

Do you watch the news every day? What do you see there? There is more bad news in this world than good news. If you see too much negative news, it will harm your mental health. It can increase anxiety, doubt, and stress about the world around you and the way you see the world.

If the news is really important and has big implications, you will be made aware of it. I have not watched the news for many years. Because if something is urgent, someone will call me or send me a direct message. Or I’ll find out through group messaging or social media.

The news and the truth are not the same things. — Walter Lippmann

7. Write a daily gratitude journal

What do you do every night before you go to bed? Have you ever thought you were doing nothing the whole day? Have you made a list of the things you do and have each day?

Writing a gratitude journal every night can help you appreciate your life more. It can shift your focus from the outside to the inside. It helps you feel better, develop positive feelings, and be happier. This simple activity can lead you to discover the gift within you. The things you do not know exist.

“Gratitude opens the door to the power, the wisdom, the creativity of the universe. You open the door through gratitude.” — Deepak Chopra

8. Connect with positive friends and a supportive community.

Do you take part in community activities? Getting involved in the community you care about can improve your mental health and well-being. It helps you think outside the box, expands your friendships, and learn new skills.

There you have the opportunity to meet people who have something in common. You can learn from each other. Connecting with positive friends and community will provide you with a good support system. It will keep you alert and keep your life in balance.

“There is no power for change greater than a community discovering what it cares about.” — Margaret J. Wheatley
