Let’s be honest, content creation can be very time-consuming. And if you’re running a business, you probably don’t have time to do it every day. Cracking content creation is about making the process as seamless and as easy as possible. Here are 4 tips I use to save time when creating content for social media.

Cut Back on the Quantity

Want to save time creating content? Create less! This one seems obvious but you’d be surprised at how many people don’t do it! I’m a big believer that a few quality posts are better than multiple ‘okay posts’.

Truthfully, you don’t need to post every day to reach your goals. Figure out what amount of content you can make consistently and stick to it.

Create a List of Ideas as You Have Them

Have you ever sat down to create content but couldn’t think of anything to create content about? This is where writing down your ideas as soon as you have them comes in handy. The Notes app on my iPhone is filled to the brim!

You could even create a short description or script under your ideas. That way, whenever you need to create content you have a list you can refer back to. This takes away a lot of the pressure of having to come up with the content on the spot.

Repurpose Existing Content

Just because you’re sharing content on a regular basis doesn’t mean that it all needs to be brand new. Reusing old content is my favourite way to get additional life out of content that remains relevant.

Take a look at your analytics to see what posts did well in the past and consider ways you can add to them or add an interesting twist. An example could be turning a successful carousel into a Reel or turning a social media post into a blog post — which I did here :).

Plan & Batch

To make your content creation session smooth and seamless I recommend planning and batching your content ahead of time. If you have your content ideas listed out, pick a good time to flesh out those ideas with scripts, descriptions and ideas for how you plan to execute them. Then, pick a day or a couple of days (depending on how much content you need to make) that you can record, design or edit your content.

You could even take it one step further and schedule your posts in advance on apps like Planoly or Facebook Creator Studio.
