Know Your Oversoul. Rely On It As Your Only Guru.

Throughout the ages, people have always found spiritual gurus to follow. They hang on every word their chosen guru speaks. Many of these teachers revel in such homage, very infrequently reminding you their devotée you’re equals. Sooner or later you’ll definitely find you must rely on your Oversoul as your only guru.

Spiritual gurus seem to be appointed by someone and that someone is us. Our tacit devotion to them is what gives them stature in our lives. And many ministers and teachers don’t just take it, they delight in the pedestal we put them on. For a while we might benefit from their decrees and holy messages, this is true. But unless we cut the cord, we’ll stifle our spiritual growth and hamper our ability to create.

The Himalayan siddha Master Emil in the books, Life and Teaching of the Masters of the Far East¹ told an expedition party:

“Another may teach or tell you, but you of yourselves must do the work, for if you look to another, you build the idol instead of bringing forth the ideal.”

It’s the job of ministers and teachers worth their salt to encourage all their students to know their Oversoul. We are equals to the guru. The only difference between us is we lack confidence and they do not, though you’d be surprised at the façade some put up.

A key question arises.

Your Divine Oversoul is all-knowing and it’s with you all the time,
so why wouldn’t you consult with it as your primary Source of wisdom?

What exactly is the Oversoul?

The Oversoul (Overself) is what some call the Higher Self. But it’s not the Higher Self. It’s much more than that.

The Overself is an extension of yourself in the higher worlds. It’s the best part of your being.

Your Overself lives in the upper quadrant of your auric field and controls the ‘all of you.’

The Oversoul is one-third in the flesh body. The rest of it rises upward in the aura surrounding the crown seal at the top of the head. And it extends even further than that.

Other names are Overself, and Overlord. For myself, the name Oversoul resonates with me, but no name is better than another.

Your Oversoul ultimately controls the all of you. It’s the same Oversoul you’ve always had in all incarnations. It has always existed.

Your Oversoul speaks wisdom to you. At other times, in its infinite wisdom it allows you life lessons that may bruise and hurt you.

The Oversoul quietly guides you through life to the extent that you can hear and feel it and be able to respond.

In the Near Death Experience (NDE) account shared in Jan Price’s book, The Other Side of Death,² she says:

“We all have a higher Self, or an Oversoul part of our being. It revealed itself to me in its truest energy form. The only way I can really describe it is that the being of the higher Self is more like a conduit. It did not look like that, but it is a direct connection to the Source that each and every one of us has. We are directly connected to the Source.”

She goes on to describe how in her NDE she briefly descended into a sort of hell. In this descent, she re-experienced the miseries, ignorance, fear, pain and darkness she had experienced in her life on earth. She called out to the Light to take her to the greater Light:

“The Light came to me and turned into a huge golden angel. I said, ‘Are you the angel of death?’ It expressed to me that it was my Oversoul, my higher Self matrix, a super ancient part of ourselves. Then I was taken to the Light.”

Our Oversoul teaches us. We just have to attune ourselves to it.

In yet another book, The Education of Oversoul Seven³ by Jane Roberts, we learn how magnanimous, powerful, capable, creative, even valiant the Oversoul is. Our Oversoul teaches us concepts of time, simultaneous lifetimes, dreams, sound, energy, reincarnation, the soul, the starseed, and how we create our own reality. (I speak of this towards the end of another article of mine here on Medium.)

When you fully embrace your Oversoul you’ll feel joyous and glad to be in a body.

You are an intrinsic part of your Oversoul and it encompasses you.

Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote about the Oversoul. In his 1841 essay, The Oversoul, he describes the Oversoul this way:

“The Supreme Critic on the errors of the past and the present, and the only prophet of that which must be, is that great nature in which we rest, as the earth lies in the soft arms of the atmosphere; that Unity, that Over-soul, within which every man’s particular being is contained and made one with all other…”

Realize that much of what you receive in meditation or a lot of your most brilliant spontaneous thoughts come from your Oversoul.

It knows exactly how to guide you through your unique spiritual journey…

if you will only allow it.

We live and move and have our being in this magnificent Divine Isness, the Oversoul.

All along, we’ve had right with us everything we need to live and thrive and become.

We are never alone left to fend for ourselves here on Earth. So reach out to your Oversoul—your direct connection to Source. There’s no greater guru, minister, teacher or guide you could ever have.

Consult with your Greater Being and leave the gurus to their adulation and glory. You’re loved so completely by your own all-knowing holy Oversoul. It needs no adulation or glory…

because it already is.
