The Basics: The Zero Point

Hey! Today, we’ll be analyzing an essential part of the basics in Fortnite’s story: The Zero Point.

In the beginning, there was nothing.

Born out of the Big Bang was a mysterious object known as the Zero Point, in reference to its place as the center of everything.

Its power is infinitely growing, like a black hole. Thus the endless hunt for its energy by so many beings.

Within the story, the Zero Point is explained to be connected to all Realities, doubling as a gateway to every single one. If tuned to the right frequency, it can create a portal to any existing reality.

This is what makes Fortnite’s ever-expanding nature possible. Epic Games has created a Metaverse, where all entertainment you know and love can be accessed from the same place, at any time.

In a burst of pure creation, life sprang into being.

The Island surrounds and guards the Zero Point. And The Seven, a faction attempting to protect the Zero Point from the Imagined Order, have suspicions about its creation.

…inter-dimensional matter collisions would resolve, rather than push.

One of the many theories that try to explain the creation of our universe is Accretion: how gravity influenced matter around it, to the point of creating planets and other cosmic bodies.

The Island seems to have been created this way. Matter from all realities accumulated at this inter-dimensional crossroads. If that accretion was natural, or in any way influenced by someone, remains to be seen.

Speaking of influence, The Imagined Order currently has control of the Zero Point in their endless pursuit of knowledge, power and control. They contain it within The Bridge, a complex under the Island.
