Hey! Welcome. Today, we’ll be dissecting the most important faction in Fortnite: The Imagined Order, and everything they entail.

What is the Imagined Order?

An organization with control of the Loop and the Zero Point. Even though the powers they handle are far beyond their capabilities, intellect has made them go further than anything imaginable.

The name comes from the concept of imagined orders, the theory of byproducts made by humanity’s search for meaning. Societies are orders imagined by the need to coexist and thrive, for example.

It’s also fitting in other ways, as there will never be true order to Reality Zero’s chaos, only the one they create.

All their efforts are based on an endless pursuit for knowledge, power and control. Even those on the Island are sometimes unaware of their contribution to the order.

When were they founded?

Their true origin is unknown, but they’ve controlled the Loop and all those within it for millennia. The first time they’ve been publicly witnessed was during The Device. (Chapter 2, Season 2)

They had even become mythical to the first inhabitants of the Island, who knew strange figures brought them from their homes, but unaware of the reason why. (revealed in Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point #4)

Some form of the organization has been present under the Island since the beginning, as evident by multiple bunkers spread across the landscape’s farthest corners. Their purpose was later discovered.

Our puppet masters wouldn’t chance getting trapped out here.

— Batman (Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point #4)

Bunkers were made for the Order to safely enter and exit the Loop at will, since the Island’s very beginning.

People staring at the Vault

When The Visitor first landed in his meteor (Chapter 1, Season 4), there were trucks of an unspecified faction helping him exit the Island.

The same emblem from those trucks was later seen on vehicles excavating Loot Lake, attempting to clear their way into the Zero Point’s Vault. (Chapter 1, Season 8)

We can assume this was the Order, as after The End (Chapter 1, Season X), they mention keeping out of sight rather well, only going into the Loop if necessary.

What is their mission?

Use the Zero Point to bring order to everything. Their meaning of “order” is to study, catalog, and manipulate every Reality.

Going as far as taking skilled combatants from the Loop and transforming them into puppets of their own design. Guards to defend secrets. (revealed in Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point #5)

Doctor Slone and two Guards

Agent Jones, formerly one of the Order’s most decorated agents, lost his allegiance when he received instructions conflicting with his morality.

The Zero Point is imploding! We’ve lost control, save yourself!

— Dr. Slone (Zero Crisis Finale; Chapter 2, Season 6)

Jones’ former boss told him to abandon the center of everything and leave it to implode.

Even though we’ve had instances of the Zero Point’s stabilization in a state similar to this, such as in The End (Chapter 1, Season X), we hadn’t seen the Order so afraid of something in their own control.

Thankfully, Jones called upon The Seven to save Reality Zero. And that leads us to the Order’s leadership, and their past.

Who is their leader?

Geno.

The word originates from Greek as the root of family and heritage. Ironic, as they take people from their homes in an endless mission.

First said by John Jones in the Zero Crisis Finale (Chapter 2, Season 6), this name is all we know of the Order’s enigmatic figure.

It was said in conversation with The Foundation, leader of the Seven: a faction in complete opposition to the Imagined Order, with the goal of destroying the Loop and freeing the Zero Point.

The Foundation has shown personal fear and anger to what Geno has done with the Zero Point in their hands. We can only imagine what their past entails. (revealed in Batman/Fortnite: Foundation)

Doctor Slone, the highest ranking officer we’ve seen so far, was raised by the Order’s philosophies. Studied them to every end.

Her perversion and lack of morality come from those responsible for her employment. This shows their manipulation doesn’t fall upon only those controlled.

Where are they?

An underground complex known as The Bridge, surrounding the Zero Point and currently connecting two Islands.

Many levels of verticality compose this cul-de-sac of all realities. Housing the Order’s desk operatives and equipment for their field agents, it also contains everything responsible for the Loop’s operation.

The Bridge and the Battle Bus

After a black hole (Chapter 1, Season X), the Island was split into two, unbeknown to the Order.

The Seven took refuge on the Flipside of the Island, saving people from the Loop and planning their course of action.

With The Cube Queen threatening reality in The End (Chapter 2, Season 8), the Seven sabotaged the Bridge’s gyroscope and flipped the Island. This made their side vulnerable to the Loop, as the Chapter 2 landscape was left ravaged underneath.

And with Chapter 3, the Imagined Order drills onto the surface as their looming war against the Seven grows ever closer.
