From Wordsmith to “Wag Whisperer”
My journey began behind the keyboard as a passionate dog writer, but my passion for pups led me to dive deeper into the world of dog training and behavior.
It all started when working for a very busy animal hospital. Many pet owners would leave the vet’s office with many questions.
We were sometimes short on vets, so after screening each case, we were authorized to offer some vet-approved home remedies to buy some extra time until their pets could see the doctor. Surprisingly, many of those owners ended up canceling their appointments because their pets were all healed up!
Rules were a bit more relaxed back then. Then, there was this big pet food recall in 2007. Hundreds of pets were dying. Pet owners were confused, they didn’t know what food brands were affected and what symptoms to watch for.
Seeing the need for reliable information, I decided to launch a website to help dog owners in need. I started writing articles on everything, from symptoms to watch for with the tainted food recall, to why dogs with eye problems should see the vet the same day and several basic home remedies.
