About Me — Charles Amemiya
From prison — to working in technology — and back to prison.
I’ve had a crazy, exciting, dramatic, and fulfilling life. I’ve been to some of the darkest places in this world but have also experienced a tremendous amount of love, compassion, and kindness.
In the Beginning
My mom adopted me when I was one-day old and she was 56-years-old. She was the most compassionate, loving, hard-working person I’ve ever met. She managed several seedy motels while I was growing up and I can remember meeting some very interesting people at these establishments.
In school, I was never good at math or sports. I was the one who got picked last when they formed sports teams during gym class. I started out as a nerdy, quiet young kid, but slowly became hardened by the rough streets. The only thing I was good at was writing, a skill that would lie dormant for many years.
I grew up in the era of 80s rock, Metallica, and early gangster rap. I had long hair, drank, used a lot of drugs, and partied like it was 1999 (any Prince fans out there?). It was all fun and games until I began selling and then manufacturing illegal drugs.
