Give me eight minutes, and I’ll tell you eight facts about me
Hello, and welcome to my little Medium space. My name is Colleen, and I’m 61 years old (yep, 61). I live in Southwest Florida and love the sunshine, warm weather, beaches, pools, and hot tubs (like the one you see me in).
When you’re 61, you’ve lived a relatively long life (the average lifespan in the 1950s). So, I could go on and on about my long life, but I won’t. Instead, I’ll give you eight facts:
1. I’ve been married to the same man since 1987.
As of now, I’m proud to say that it’s been 37 years. Not to sound cliché, but marriage involves ups and downs, and we get along better now than ever. Of course, maybe that’s because we’re empty nesters. It’s just the two of us now, and we are like two peas in a pod (another cliché).
2. My husband and I have two adult children.
One is 29 and a successful TV producer in Manhattan. The other is 32 and a successful Senior Manager at one of the Big Four accounting firms. They’re successful partly because my husband and I knew it was important that our kids got a good education, even if it meant paying tuition and sacrificing other things. (I lived with an ugly kitchen for 30 years until we moved to Florida.) So now they’re living with their…
