About Me, Arielle Blackburn.
Unearthing for you the creative practice that weaves together words, textiles, and city-based, artful living.
You’ve stumbled into my treasure trove.
So welcome.
Glad to make your acquaintance.
Who am I, actually?
I’m a once-New Yorker, now Tel Avivian. Between those cities, I set up tents in San Francisco, Cincinnati, and Jerusalem.
When I’m not writing, I chop up clothes to sew them back together, or hunt for hidden gems in the forms of cities, cafes, boutiques, museums, and wayside pile ups. I curate and create women’s fashion and accessories. Sometimes I schlep my wares from my home studio out to a pop-up or night market. Directors of photography hire me to design film sets, creative directors hire me for stage design, and stores hire me for visual displays.
Even while attending fashion school in New York City, writing and the liberal arts were a chunk of my education and focus. I took a creative nonfiction writing course that set the foundation for everything you read from me today.
