Childhood and Upbringing
I am originally from the South-South region of Nigeria, situated in West Africa. Whenever I tell curious foreigners where I am from, I often have to clarify by saying “West Africa” because of the confusion that arises when I say “Nigeria”.
My family has moved around quite a bit, but I spent my formative years in the ancient city of Ibadan, located in the West. I have a deep affection for this city because it was here that I developed a sense of self-awareness.
When I was eight years old, I became self-aware of my academic abilities. Parents began to ask me to tutor their children due to my good grades.
