My name is Lauren, but I prefer to go by Laurenswritten. I live in Nottingham with my girlfriend of 4 years. I love to garden, animate, and my mental health is like a dog requiring constant walks and belly rubs. Due to how demanding my mental health is (particularly my ADHD which just doesn’t respond to any medication), I work part-time supporting autistic adults, and spend the rest of my time writing.

My writing experience

My TV-writing recently reached the top 9% at the BBC open call, and I’ve directed two stage plays for performance in the last two years. I even worked alongside Mark Gatiss at Nottingham Playhouse to produce his version of ‘A Christmas Carol’ during the COVID-19 pandemic. I feel really lucky to have had the writing experiences I have, and look forward to sharing stories about them here. I’m constantly working to try and take this ‘writing thing’ seriously, and I joined Medium to do just that.
