About Me — Tamara Devers
A little bit of sass and a lot of badass
Picture it. 1988. Pagers were all the rage and schools still had typing classes. I was a hyper little chatterbox who got in trouble in Louisiana History class and as punishment, my parents took away my TV privileges. And if that wasn’t bad enough, they took away my books! I was a voracious reader, so that was some coooold-blooded punishment.
Needless to say, I was miserable and as dramatic as only a pre-teen can be. I missed my stories. So, I decided to write my own. Sitting at my kitchen table one night, I scribbled out two funky tales…and they were weird.
One was about a girl who took her dog to prom. The other? A girl wanted to know what she tasted like…so she ate herself. Told you they were weird. But I didn’t care.
I’d discovered the rush of storytelling and the power of words. I was hooked. Since then, I’ve written everything from website content to screenplays, comedy sketches, and video blurbs for a hula-hooping website. Yes, hula hooping is a thing and it’s really fun!
My biggest writing accomplishment (up to this point) and the one I’m most proud of is self-publishing my debut rom-com novel, You Make Me Sick. My book baby was years in the making and at times it was rough going. But I persevered. I fought that…
