I was born in Miami, Florida and now live in Duluth, Minnesota which encapsulates my story.
Balmy, sea-salty air, waving palm trees versus snowy, minus zero temps, this is the picture of my journey.
It was the time when Hitler’s ‘brilliant’ decision to take over the world had just begun. Thus, my father worked in an aircraft manufacturing plant.
My mother was a ‘housewife’ who, they said, couldn’t get pregnant until she and my dad were in a serious car accident, from which they obviously recovered. Then came me.
Our family moved northward where we settled into a post-war housing tract and I completed high school and college in Jacksonville.
I finished ministerial training and was ordained by The Methodist Church, an institution filled with oppressive ideas and bigots. I escaped quickly.
Then came a procession of denominations, with the United Church of Christ, as an anchor, during which journey, I divorced one wife and lost another to heart disease.
I served rural Methodist circuits, a Continuing Congregational church in infamous Kenosha, a United Presbyterian for an interim stint, a…
