Escaping the Cage of Fear: The Best Advice My Dad Ever Gave Me
Don’t Worry (And You’ll Be Happy): 5 Practical Ways to Minimize Worry and Maximize Happiness.
Growing up, I had two lives.
Home
At home, I was mostly unseen. From my perspective, my parents were always struggling.
Struggling with money, struggling to be happy, struggling to be less reactive to emotional triggers, struggling to grow.
I always knew there was a better way to make life happen for me instead of to me. Life is a gift that we all take for granted until something extreme happens to remind us of its value.
On Stage
My escapism was writing, singing, and dancing on stage starting at the age of 9. Being an introvert, as paradoxical as it may sound, I found a safer home on stage.
On stage, I was seen, heard, and validated.
I knew I had to filter out unproductive behavior if I wanted to live a different life. I didn’t listen to my parents’ advice throughout my life.
