I often sit in silence.

Especially at night, when everyone in the house — my son, my husband, even my cats — has gone to bed. That is when the world quiets down enough for me to hear myself think. It is my time to breathe deeply, reflect, pray, or just sit with my thoughts.

Funny how silence brings back memories you thought you had forgotten.

Last night, in one of those quiet moments, a memory came flooding back. It was from many years ago, back when I still lived with my parents, long before mobile phones became a part of our everyday lives.
