About Me — Violet Daniels
Violet is an avid reader and writer, trying to navigate through their twenties one word at a time. She enjoys writing about books, mental health, feminism & politics.
I saw this wonderful idea from Zulie Rane and Danny Forest, so I thought I would make my own too — and I would encourage everyone to do so too!

Bio
I’m Violet Daniels, a twenty six year old writer and full time bookseller. After graduating in 2020, I turned to writing to cope with an escalating chaotic world.
I’ve been writing for as long as I can remember, and I was the editor of a student media outlet at university, but I have only been consistently writing online since January. My Medium journey began in August 2020.
I’m at my happiest when reading a good book, writing, or drinking a ginormous cup of coffee.
My favourite time of the year is Autumn and Winter. I crave the stillness and crisp, cold mornings. Also, it means I can drink more coffee without breaking a sweat.
If you want to know more about me and my writing, please read on.
15 Random Facts About Me
I’m adding this in as I was inspired by the lovely Anangsha Alammyan and wanted to make this a bit more personal.
- I’m a massive introvert and get my energy from myself or quieter environments. I can easily get overstimulated in social situations.
- I struggle to watch films from start to finish but can easily devour a book in one sitting (if it’s really gripping!)
- I studied History at University and did my final year dissertation on letter writing between 1920–25, based on those sent between my great grandparents.
- Chocolate in all forms is my nemesis, and if it’s in the house, I struggle with self-control even if I’m full.
- I’m an adoptee.
- I wrote Aladin fan-fiction when I was at school and had an unhealthy crush on Jafar.
- My favourite music to listen to is anything by Bon Iver, The Lumineers, Ben Howard or HAIM.
- I have read The Great Gatsby more times than I can count and own about six different editions of the book.
- I am very phone shy — whether that’s a normal phone call or video call.
- I love hiking/walking. So far, I have climbed Ben Nevis, Scarfel Pike, Snowdown, Pen y Fan and Helvellyn.
- I have an Australian penpal who I have been writing letters to since I was 13 years old, and I regard her as one of my best friends.
- I’ve kept some form of diary or journal since I was about 8 years old and have a suitcase full of them at my parent's house.
- I started a Medium publication, A Thousand Lives, back in December 2020, and it is my pride and joy.
- I love food and often eat too fast and give myself bad hiccups — if you know me in real life — you’ll know they can be incredibly loud.
- I’m a coffee fiend & love it all — from milky lattes to strong expresso depending on my mood.

- Provide copywriting services (web and blog based, commercial, product landing pages)
- Blog content creation — including SEO, keyword targeting, HTML

- Editing and proofreading
