Why I am Wishing to Trade a Job Where People Are More Than Just Likes
I May Sound Nonsensical
After spending four years in the capital, I came back to my hometown. If you’ve read my articles before, you’ll probably say,
Okay, this is old news, Mona. Tell us something new.
Working as a social media manager for a client, I realized something: I don’t want to use my creativity just for engaging and dropping AI-generated comments that don’t feel meaningful to me. It all feels empty. I want to experience the outside world rather than being confined to a screen.
There was a time when I wanted to work as a waitress. And that urge is only growing. One day, I will work as one.
To me, waitressing looks like a wonderful job. You get to serve people and have a front-row seat to their stories — an endless stream of lives to observe and learn from. Isn’t that satisfying? Just imagine, taking in all those stories. It sounds so much better than engaging online just for the sake of a few likes. Honestly, that feels a little foolish.
