Listen to Anchor in your car (and everywhere else audio is heard)
Starting today, you can use Anchor in any Apple CarPlay or Android Auto-enabled car. Tune in to your favorite stations or discover new ones, right from your car’s dashboard. All you need is our free app for iOS or Android.
Earlier this year, we introduced Anchor 2.0, making it not only possible but easy to create great audio right from your smartphone and have it heard by people all over the world. Since then, it’s become one of our core product missions to make sure our Anchor creators can reach their audience “everywhere audio is heard”. We’ve been working hard towards that mission over the past few months, enabling support for Amazon Alexa, integrating with the Google Assistant on devices like the Google Home, and even making it really simple to share engaging audio to social media with Anchor Videos.
Now we’re extending our creators’ reach to another place where people love to listen to audio: the car. It’s simple; all you need is our free app for iOS or Android, and a CarPlay or Android Auto enabled device. Just plug your phone into your dashboard (or connect via BlueTooth, if supported) and you’ll be able to take advantage of an auto-first experience that lets you listen to your favorite Anchor stations while keeping your hands on the wheel and your eyes on the road.
Not only can you easily browse and hear your favorites in real time, but you can also discover new stations with categories like News, Entertainment, Sports, and more. So if you love listening to Anchor and have been wishing you could hear it on your commute or drive to school, now you can. And if you’re a creator, this update means that Anchor is now simply the easiest way for you to be heard in any car — just like any other radio DJ, talk show host, or news anchor (get it?).
