“An artist is not paid for his labor but for his vision.” — James Whistler.

It’s been a fun month for ART + marketing. Beyond publishing my favorite stories (featured below), the other notable monthly news is that Prowly, the data driven public relations software named us the #3 publication powered by Medium, and we moved our site to the more colloquial & google friendly domain of ARTplusMarketing.com.

I took the liberty of using the 🎨 emoji to represent volume of stories, and the categories — like the timely art of marketing or the fickle market for art — create a wide ranging editorial line, begging the question: what is a valuable story to those with vision?

I’ve built 15 publications with 1,000+ subscribers, four with 500,000+ monthly readers, one with a million monthly readers, and this one, ART + marketing, is the hardest to define. It’s also the first one I built on Medium. It’s for marketers. It’s for creatives. It’s for people who see the ART in the world. It’s for that thread, explaining how something is talked about, inherently remarkable and ultimately just has to be shared. It’s what I find interesting. Contribute today.

Kind Regards

David Smooke, ART + marketing
