Asana2Go: Lists!

Asana2Go detailed list output

Asana2Go, the multi-purpose tool to flexibly copy, export and print from Asana (no affiliation), now offers several improved list outputs for viewing your Asana tasks.

Easily render your chosen content and paste to an email or another document. Or just use these new formats to see your Asana content in new and different ways, whether you’re trying to suss out information across many tasks, or dig into the depth of content of a select few. Go beyond Asana’s rudimentary and inflexible print output capability.

Six New Standard List Outputs

Three of the new six outputs are shown below:

  1. Include Sections, checkboxes (checked or unchecked indicates completion state), subsections/subtasks of all selected tasks, task/subtask decriptions, and live links for all listed tasks/subtasks:
Asana2Go: List w/Checkboxes and Links — Sections/Tasks/Description/Subtasks

2. Similar to the above, butwithout the descriptions, subsections, and subtasks:

Asana2Go: List w/Checkboxes and Links — Sections/Tasks

3. Sometimes you just need a simple list of tasks only:

Asana2Go: List — Tasks Only

Each of the three outputs above was created from this one project below with these same exact selections each time:

Three more standard outputs (not shown here) offer different combinations of the features shown above.

Benefits

  • Works in all these views: Projects, My Tasks, Search Results, Tags view, and even selecting subsections/subtasks within a task
  • Board users: With Asana’s List <> Board toggle rollout, Board devotees can toggle to List view and are no longer excluded from Asana2Go use
  • See deep into multiple tasks at once in a highly readable format; this is not possible in the Asana UI itself
  • More flexible than Aasna’s limited print output capability; Select just the tasks of interest to you; Asana’s print output only allows you to see everything at once
  • Not limited to 50 selections (ignore the Asana warning; it doesn’t apply to Asana2Go, though there is an upper limit depending on resources)
  • In Descriptions, @references appear as readable and clickable links (unlike with Asana’s print output) and rich text and emojis appear formatted as expected
  • Improved markup (vs. earlier versions of these outputs) pastes well into Gmail, Word, etc.

Easy to Customize If You Need Different Combinations

Just use the Asana2Go Wrench menu to Duplicate one of these six formats and create your custom format as you like it. Generally, start with any of the five formats other than List — Tasks and simply set the desired features on or off in any combinations you need regularly:

  • Include sections
  • Include checkboxes
  • Include description
  • Include subsections/subtasks
  • Show tasks (subtasks) as links
