What shall you do if your car overheats?

Step by step process

  1. Open the car window
  2. Shut off the air conditioner

If still the overheating continues:

3. Turn on the heater and blower (This will pass the heat to the passenger compartment of the vehicle)

If you find the overheating while you’re in traffic:

4. Shift your car to neutral, or park and reverse the engine a little. (This will speed up the water pump and the fan that will draw more liquid and air through the radiator. The increased air and liquid circulation helps in cooling off the car)

5. Do not open the hood until the car is cooled down.

6. Do not open the radiator and do not put the water into the engine.

7. Once the car is cooled down, open the hood and the radiator, and check the coolant level in the radiator

8. If needed, fill coolant to the top of the radiator. Make sure that the hoses are not blocked, or burst.

If the coolant tank is full:
