This 7th report is a special report to celebrate the first anniversary of the success of the BCDiploma ICO. A year ago, BCDiploma became the 4th successful French ICO with more than 500 individual investors from more than 80 countries. At the beginning of February 2018 the BCDiploma project entered in its development phase. Here is a retrospective of BCDiploma’s major achievements since then.
Who are we? What is BCD?
Blockchain Certified Data is a start-up developing an innovative B2B solution for blockchain-based certification of data. We create the new global certification standard, with the first use case dedicated to diplomas certification: BCDiploma. Application is now live for 3 months with several paying clients (schools, colleges, universities and companies). Our objective, allow each graduate, throughout his or her life, to prove the authenticity of his/her diploma in a single click, thanks to Blockchain technology.
Step one: Build a solid foundation
In the first months of 2018, we focused on building a solid foundation for BCD’s future, namely:
- a complementary and experienced core team,
- a clean and efficient technological framework,
- a quality brand image in the academic world.
To achieve this:
- Alexis (COO) joined the team very quickly, followed in the second half by Hoël (Lead Dev) and Philippe (UX/UI Designer),
- we immediately started the development of the framework with our long-term partner, Talium,

Among all these events, the CES in Vegas early January was very productive for BCDiploma, with a lot of traffic on the stand and business leads. We are working now to convert them!

From BCDiploma to EvidenZ
A rebranding of BCDiploma was initiated in 2018 and will continue in 2019. A new Medium publication has been created and is intended to collect reports on the ecosystem on which BCDiploma is based: its framework, its token — BCDT, the one and only token of the EvidenZ ecosystem — , its technical aspects, its community, under the name EvidenZ.
Exchange
Immediately after the ICO, the BCDT Token was listed on Idex. In November, the BCDT was one of the very first ERC-20 tokens listed on Switcheo, and thus allowed the token to be listed on CoinMarketCap.

BPI
We have obtained the “French Tech Emergence” prize from the BPI (Public Investment Bank), a mark of confidence from a recognized French institution.
Systematic-Paris Region Digital Ecosystem
BCD has been selected and integrated into the SYSTEMATIC Paris-Region competitiveness hub, which brings together and animates an ecosystem of excellence with more than 800 members. Systematic connects software companies, digital and industry players, accelerates digital projects.
AUF and “Groupe logiciels” framework contracts
These are strategic contracts for the development of BCDiploma. AUF brings together 880 French-speaking institutions worldwide and “Groupe Logiciel” includes all French universities and research centres.
EveryCheck
We work with EveryCheck, a background checking company, to offer a B2C service for the certification of experiences and diplomas. On the occasion of our anniversary, we will offer the certification of their experience to some of you! Stay tuned! Here is a sample certificate:
One product and customers: the most important thing
First certificate
After months of work, and after the patent application in the United States for EvidenZ was filed, the first BCDiploma certificate was issued at the end of our batch at Station F for Chainaccelerator. This is our first production achievement:
First university degrees on the blockchain
Shortly afterwards, in December, we put into production the first degrees of a Master 2 degree from a prestigious French public university, Paris Descartes:
…and first business school degrees on the blockchain
Financia BS is the first French school in the world to accept Bitcoin to pay tuition fees, and the first business school in the world to publish its diplomas on the Blockchain Ethereum using BCDiploma:

Continuous improvement
To democratize BCDiploma, its user interface must be more and more accessible. For the CES, we published a certificate of attendance at the event and an update of the user experience for the consultation of certificates.
Of course other customers will publish their certificates with BCDiploma in the coming months, as IAE Nantes (+1k certificates) or ISMaPP (new usecase of the EvidenZ framework)! You can follow their onboarding in the EvidenZ smartcontract or on the following webpage:

This is only the beginning
The year 2018 was the year of team building, partnerships and framework contracts, core product development and first certifications. With a ready-to-use product and a healthy database of prospects and customers, the year 2019 is dedicated to the volume of certification and deployment of the solution: we are focus on theses targets.
