The Week! issue 4
A month has passed and The Week! is turning 4!
Looking back, you can read about our meeting with Copenhagen Fintech in Issue 1, the Hamburg.ai conference in Issue 2 and how we got featured in the most prominent Italian innovation magazine in Issue 3.
Sunday
We run! 🏃
BotSupply participated in the 2017 edition of the Telenor Copenhagen Marathon finishing the 42 km race in 5 hours and 41 minutes.
Not the fastest runner out there, but a good result considering it was my first marathon:
In the meantime, our bot engineer Carlos Avilan safely reached Copenhagen ready to dive deep in our latest development projects:
It’s great to have you here Carlos! 🙌 🙌 🙌 🙌
Monday
We build! 🏗️
With Carlos working side by side Kumar Shridhar, we can push projects forward at lightning speed:
Tuesday
We rehearse! 🎤 👨
On the 30th of May, BotSupply will be presenting at GET FIT, a conference on “Chatbots in financial services” organized by Copenhagen Fintech at Copenhagen Fintech Lab.
On Tuesday we met with Klub.io a new space in Copenhagen that aims to change the co-working paradigm:
We joined Klub.io to discuss on a series of events and conferences on Bots and Artificial Intelligence. We think their conference hall would be a perfect venue for the first event:
Wednesday
We kick off! 🚉 🤖
We met DSB Digital Lab to present the first prototype of the Journey Planner bot we are building for them.
Through the bot, users will be able to use natural language to check the schedule of any public transport in the greater Copenhagen area.
We think it’s a fantastic use case for a bot and we can’t wait to push it live for everyone to use!
Thursday
We publish! 📰
As a follow-up to his previous post on the challenges of beating the Turing Test, our Co-Chief Scientist Kumar Shridhar published an article highlighting the differences between Rule-Based Bots and Artificial Intelligence Bots:
These articles are part of “The Rise of AI,” a new series of pieces from BotSupply Cognitive for people interested in Ai who want to tell what’s real from what’s hype!
Friday
We blush! 😊
Insurance companies receive many requests for support from customers on a broad range of topics that encompasses everything from natural disasters to common flu. Of all these topics, travel is one of the most sensitive for customers as their health and safety while away from home depends on the terms of the travel insurance they have purchased.
As summer approaches and people prepare for their well-deserved vacations, the number of customer support requests related to travel insurance skyrockets. As the absolute number of claims increase, it turns out that the majority of questions can be reconnected to a handful of categories and therefore be partially automated delegating part of the work to a bot that can process Natural Language.
TopDenmark, one of our earliest clients and a strong believer in the power of bots, has been using our Natural Language Processing engine to enable their bot to understand travel insurance questions:
In this interview on kommunikationsforum.dk, Linea Svendsen who’s responsible for bot implementation at TopDanmark, describes the process to bring the bot to life and the challenges encountered along the way.
Thanks, Linea Svendsen for mentioning BotSupply in the interview:
We are very happy to work with TopDanmark and we are looking forward to build awesome customer experiences together.
On another note, Friday we had a fantastic call with the Chatbot Summit team to discuss how BotSupply can bring value to the summit!
We are looking forward to seeing you all in Berlin on the 26th of June!
Saturday
We design! ✏️ 📐 📏
We are testing different design in Facebook Messenger Web-views to improve the UX of our bots.
The Messenger Team released a handy Sketch UI kit that really hits the spot, you can download it for free here:
In the meantime, Co-Chief Scientist Rahul Kumar was in Bangalore attending an event on Deep Learning for Natural Language Processing (NLP).
An integral part of building any NLP applications is: creating a rich representation of text.
These events are usually divided into two sessions, the first part covers material for beginners while the second part takes deep dive into advanced techniques.
We’re a team of bot creatives and AI scientists with one common goal:
blowing business objectives out of the water with bots and cognitive solutions
