Audio in it of itself is not a bad idea, but having it standardized to AI voices and not allowing creators to offer this feature on their own for their own content is a bad idea. Should writers' content always be used on their dime to provide training data to companies that benefit from these experiments, including AI?

I'm a big fan of Medium's stated and implied mission which was a critical consideration and also what I thought set this platform apart (among other important factors like this platform/company is operating in the US and understands and would uphold US values and ideals).

Super appreciate the honest interview and listened intently to all of it. Since it's a centralized platform which the Medium team and Ev have their hands on the till so-to-speak, it's important to know what's the thought-process for the future as it directly affects us on here.

Let us control our own searches. Don't feed us. Let us feed ourselves. Separate anything to do with Making Money on Medium in its own area and let those who are interested actively go there to read about it all.

If you're only offering the difference between silence or having an audio option, then you are gyping the readers by removing any other options that are higher quality (haven't you heard of Audm?).
