COVID-19: Emirates NBD gives US$441,971 to distance learning
Furthering its commitments to help the UAE amidst the global pandemic (COIVD-19), Emirates NBD contributes US$1.08mn to distance education.
As the impact of the Coronavirus continues to affect hundreds of thousands around the world, Emirates NBD has committed to providing students with laptops for distance learning during the ongoing situation.
From the bank’s charity fund, Emirates NBD and Emirates Islamic have contributed US$1.08mn to the UAE Ministry of Education to support online and distance learning initiatives launched for UAE schools during the current pandemic.
The contribution comprises two lots of US$441,971 from Emirates and Emirates Islamic, which will provide laptops to UAE students and support the community.
The Ministry of Education highlights the importance of the government and private sector, stating that the two compliment each other due to playing similar roles when it comes to development and success of the UAE economy, as well as the development growth and prosperity of society.
The Ministry of Education also commended the two banks for their support in facilitating the continuation of distance learning, reaffirming the importance of the private sector’s role in enhancing the framework of knowledge and development.
