1 burger chain named America’s most ‘overpriced’ (do you eat here?)
When a big American chain moves into lil’ old Canada, people here get weirdly excited.
The latest in my area is Chick-fil-A, which caused traffic jams around the shopping area it launched in and prompted around-the-block lineups from open to close.
Meanwhile, I’m over here like, “Could you guys not have just gone to Popeye’s?”
Anyway, I was thinking about it this week after coming across new data that ranks America’s top 5 most ‘overpriced’ fast food joints.
I remember when Five Guys — one of the restaurants on that list — moved in here and everyone was all over it.
Now? You can walk in at any time to zero wait.
The price probably has something to do with that.
I feel like once the novelty wears off for a particular restaurant, people start wondering if the burger meal they just bought was really worth $20.
While Five Guys is on the list of the top 5 overpriced fast food joints, it doesn’t quite rank at the top.
No, that title goes to another patty peddler that hasn’t moved into my area quite yet but will no doubt create similar (short-lived?) fanfare when it does.
