Based on the feedback from our users, we have revamped the way addresses are added in Chainbeat. When we started Chainbeat, we just had support for the Ethereum network and now with our multi-network strategy, in addition to Ethereum, we have now added support for RSK, POA & xDAI networks. When all these newly supported networks, we had to modify the way new addresses are added to Chainbeat to make it easy and understandable for the user. After all, the most important way to unleash the power of Chainbeat is getting started and you do that by adding an address.

Starting today, we are introducing a simple two-step process to add addresses in Chainbeat.

Step 1:
Add the address of the smart contract or wallet that you would like to do a deep dive in Chainbeat. The address is the 42 character hexadecimal address representing a smart contract or a public wallet. The public addresses of contracts should be available on the project websites or it can also be retrieved from the network block explorers:
- For Ethereum: https://etherscan.io/
- For RSK: https://explorer.rsk.co/
- For xDAI & PoA: https://blockscout.com/poa/core/

Step 1: Add Address in Chainbeat

For Ethereum, we support auto-populating contract addresses for popular smart contracts. You can just type in the name of the contract and the field should be auto-populated.

AutoComplete for Ethereum addresses

Step 2:
This step is confirming the address that you added in Step 1 and the network that is auto-selected based on your entry.

Step 2: Add Address in Chainbeat

“Name” is the name of the contract or wallet in Chainbeat. This field is editable and you can change it or call it anything that you like. Once you hit confirm, Chainbeat gets to work right away with data retrieval. The data retrieval process for the contract depends on the size of the contract, it can take a few minutes to a few hours for the process to complete. An email will be sent as soon as all the data is retrieved.

We have refined the Add Address process to be simple and straightforward to use and removed the headaches from the initial setup so that you can dive right into Chainbeat without any hitches. We would love to hear your feedback, please email us at info@chainbeat.io with your thoughts.
