This is a ‘choose your own’ fiction story, “drabble edition”. Head back to the previous instalment: ‘The Adventuring Band Advances’ by JF Danskin. Or go back to Chapter 1: “The Burned Village.” Find out how to contribute to the ongoing story here.

You swiftly divide up the dead man’s possessions.

Any gold or gems are long gone. The armor, though is a good fit on you. You pass the leather cuirass to Tox’ar, replacing it with a steel one plus a chain shirt.

At last, with companions, a sword in your hand and steel on your back, you might have a chance against the band of orcs…

All the same, stealth will be needed...

And as you proceed along the path in silence, it’s not long before a foul orc emerges ahead.

Tox’ar’s bow sings; the orc falls.

And you walk on.

Continue.

This is a collaborative story. Please feel free to join in and add a chapter, furthering the story in any way you like. Each main part of the story (not including choices and blurb) should be a 100-word drabble. Or drop suggestions in the comments!
