This is a continuation of The Burned Village, a ‘choose your own’ fiction story, “drabble edition,” initially created by JF Danskin. Head back to the previous chapter or learn how to contribute to the ongoing story here.

As you walk down the settlement streets with your new ‘friends,’ Polki takes the initiative to try and break the uncomfortable silence.

“Soo, you just told us what you want and what you give out of this whole ‘orc-invasion’ situation. But you never told us your name. Or why do you want to clear this orc camp? Is it personal? Is it business? Is it for fun? Is it — ”

“Silence, goblin,” Naya intervenes, “you talk too much.”

“Why, sorceress? I mean, the goblin raises a few good points here,” Tox’ar answers while polishing his great axe with care.

You decide to:

  1. Answer Polki’s questions right now (click here).
  2. Tell them that they will get their answers. After they visit a market so you can buy some gear (click here).
  3. Tell them your party is just business, and they will get no answers from you (click here).
