This is a continuation of The Burned Village, a ‘choose your own’ fiction story, “drabble edition,” initially created by JF Danskin. Head back to the previous chapter here or find out how to contribute to the ongoing story here.

You spend the remainder of the night tracking and exploring the forest trails looking for signs of… anything.

You have little luck.

By the next dawn you’re exhausted, but then hear a distant conversation muffled by the roar of a brook near a rocky ford.

Just as you near the river you see a goblin corpse stuck with many arrows — arrows you recognize as elven in design, and you guess by the craftsmanship that they may belong to the ranger you met before… what was her name?

It should be easy to cross the river by jumping over the rocks…

Should you:

  1. Search out Dara Blackfeather and beg her assistance? (Click Here)
  2. Cross the wet rocks and go after the distant voices? (Click Here).

You’ve wasted enough time dawdling; now is the time to rally your forces! Who will join…
