This is a continuation of The Burned Village, a ‘choose your own’ fiction story, “drabble edition,” initially created by JF Danskin. Head back to the previous chapter, written by Rayne Sanning. Find out how to contribute to the ongoing story here.

“Easy there, friend,” you respond. “Who said anything about stealing?”

“Oh yeah? So this ring is yours, huh?”

“Actually, it became mine ten minutes ago. I bought it from a merchant in a nearby tavern for 1000 gold. I think he robbed me and came here to get the honest opinion of an experienced businessman.”

The moneychanger’s eyes widen in surprise. “Oh, that’s terrible news, stranger,” he lowers the club and moves behind the counter.

“You see this ring’s fake. But I can help by giving you 300 gold to ease your burden. I will sell it just for scrap.”

Choices:

  1. You accept the moneychanger’s offer.
  2. You decline the moneychanger’s offer.
