You find yourself in a town square, medieval peasants all around. A wooden platform: Death on one side, and you on the other. Each holding a hurdy-gurdy.

You grin. Didn’t Death know you can play?

As you begin your beautiful music, he snarls, then starts his own, producing a sad, compelling harmony.

He’s cheating, too — you can hear a bass line and drums!

All the same, the peasants start to clap your more cheerful song. Death throws his instrument aside and raises his scythe, advancing, but can’t get near you due to the throng. You flee down a side street…
