You head downhill, towards the nearest settlement. On the way, you pass an elven archer dressed in black, with a serious face.
“Be careful,” you say. “There was an attack. The village up there is burned.”
“Orcs did it,” she says. “I must warn my people.”
“You saw the attack?”
“No. But far ahead on my road, I saw them taking their prisoners to the forest.”
“Prisoners? Children among them?”
She nods, then hurries off.
You clench your fists. Your family may still be alive — but they need help.
