How often is this your rationalisation?
For some, it’s regular, but apologetic. For others, it’s become second nature.
After all, the “real world” is the thing that keeps us feed, clothed, and housed — isn’t it?
I don’t consider myself oblivious to much that happens around me.
In fact, if anything I’m probably hypersensitive.
Despite what many people think, the “cure” for pride is not humility.
In every superhero story there are a number of characters.
The hero.
The villain.
And the voice — crying in the wilderness.
Fight for what matters.
There will be a cost, but you will accept it if it matters enough.
It might not work. It might not achieve anything. It might be a “waste”. But you will accept that if it’s right.
A lot of people feel trapped.
In our jobs, our financial situations, our speed of advancement, their lives.
We often feel that their struggle is the world’s fault. That’s rarely true.
We live in a state of permanent distraction.
A distraction is
a thing that prevents someone from concentrating on something else.
It’s case in a negative light, but distraction is arguably no different from…
Saying no to things is extremely important.
So is saying yes.
No gives you margin. No frees the clutter in your mind, your spirit and your life. No allows you to engage in a disciplined pursuit of less.
I’m not outraged, offended or in any way concerned. It’s just interesting.
Pretty much weekly, as I “do my thing”, someone asks my kids “so it’s a day with Dad today, is it?”.
Without going fully into la-la land, sometimes a reasonable degree of paranoia can actually help you achieve great success in your life.
