Moonhack is back for 2020, and things are a bit different this year!

Moonhack 2020

Over the last four years Code Club Australia has taken over 100,000 kids to space for Moonhack! Kids from over 60 countries, in five different languages have been part of our world-record breaking mission to code the moon!

(Check out our breakdowns of Moonhack 2018 and 2019 too!)

They’ve coded lunar modules, launched rockets, and learnt all about moons of other planets.

In 2020, (for a whole week in May) we’re bringing that lunar module back to earth!! We want kids to think about change in their own backyard!

Moonhack 2020 is focused on sustainability!

Here at Code Club Australia, we’ve been devastated by Australia’s recent national fire emergency, we want to give kids everywhere the chance to be hopeful. To give them the power to create their own change and to be connected to kids around the world doing the same.

Through a series of awesome coding projects created by us and some of our legendary partners, kids will have a chance to code their own planet-saving solutions.

Our Moonhack 2020 projects will engage young people to consider:

  • sustainability in their home
  • what the heck is space junk!
  • how can we simplify our water usage?
  • what are traditional indigenous ways to renew country?

When is it?

We’ve moved Moonhack earlier this year, and we’ve made it a whole week!

Complete your Moonhack projects in the last week in May (25th-31st), and register at moonhack.com from April 1st.

Get your Code Club, classroom, library or home Moonhack ready! Sign up to our mailing list at moonhack.com and save the date!
