I hear candidates say “how do you get through the ATS Black Hole?” Like as if there’s a bot in there scanning your resume with it’s red HAL 9000 eyeball and considering your font…
Nobody reads cover letters.
UNLESS there’s something about your resume I don’t understand.
Then, I might go back and skim a cover letter trying to find the answer to the anomaly.
It’s usually not there either, but I try.
Sadly, most organizations whose passionate people become quiet will confuse that for the troublemakers finally “getting in line”
