Overview

Since our last community update in May, where the crypto market reached its all-time high, the market trend has shifted and has entered a correction phase. During this time, DeFi and NFT projects have been the main drivers, outperforming and catching more eyes in the media.

During these bumpy months, DIA has intensified product development efforts to drive positioning within the growing NFT market. In this context, DIA announced two major product updates: an NFT-based data rights management system and the development of a connectivity layer between NFTs and the DeFi space through the sourcing, organisation and provision of NFT data.

Furthermore, DIA relaunched its innovation arm DIA Labs, revamped its web presence, announced a number of new partnerships and much more. Continue reading to find out more.

Product / Tech ⚙️

Introducing DIA ARTs, Autonomous Rights Tokens

DIA establishes a new system to track and manage data usage rights that leverages the benefits of decentralisation to create an autonomous market infrastructure and tracking system using Autonomous Rights Tokens, or ‘ARTs ‘ for short.

Supporting the Decentralisation of Tixl’s Cross-Chain Bridge

To enable the decentralisation of Tixl’s ERC-20 / BEP-20 bridge, the oracle address triggering the release of the bridged tokens is created through the participation of 3 decentralised nodes. DIA provides one of the nodes enabling this, next to Rocknitive and Tixl.

DIA Oracles available via ENS Registry

To optimise the oracle user experience, DIA is now leveraging Ethereum Naming Service (ENS) domains as a single source of truth for its oracle addresses.

Partnerships and Integrations 🤝

Since May 2021, DIA has expanded its oracle service to support a range of dApps, protocols, DEXs and launchpads. Here is an overview of the latest additions to the DIA ecosystem:

  1. Fetch.ai: Fetch.ai, is a Cambridge-based artificial intelligence lab, focused on building a decentralized machine learning platform based on a distributed ledger, that enables secure sharing, connection, and transactions based on any data globally. Fetch.ai’s network is based around open-source technology and gives users access to the power of AI on a world-scale secure dataset to carry out complex coordination tasks in the modern economy.
  2. Mettalex: Mettalex is a Fetch.ai-powered decentralized derivatives exchange that is bringing the $20T traditional commodities market to decentralized finance. Mettalex’s mission is to provide cost and capital-efficient access to risk management tools to a large audience of market participants while avoiding the high spreads and limited liquidity of financial market intermediaries.
  3. Genesis Shards: Genesis Shards is a Polkadot-native, decentralized ecosystem that redefines NFTs as DeFi options. Genesis Shards leverages a permissionless environment of interchain liquidity for pre-IDO tokens. By wrapping time-locked fungible tokens into NFTs, a new marketplace for previously illiquid tokens is created.
  4. Raze Network: Raze Network is a Substrate-based cross-chain privacy protocol for the Polkadot ecosystem. It is built as a native privacy layer that can provide end-to-end anonymity for the entire DeFi stack. The objective of Raze Network is to enable cross-chain privacy-preserving payment and DeFi systems while protecting the transparency of your assets and behaviours from surveillance. Eventually, Raze Network will anonymize all the cryptocurrency across all chains.
  5. Ola Finance: Ola Finance is a lending platform that lets anyone create a Compound-like instance of almost any token, referred to as Lending Networks. With Ola, a Lending Network can be created with a few clicks of a button by tuning a few parameters. These parameters include the tokens that can be lent and borrowed, the collateral factor for each token, the fee rate, and a few more. Once a Lending Network is created, anyone can instantly interact with it via the Ola app, which acts as a gateway to all Lending Networks.
  6. Standard Protocol: Standard Protocol is the first Collateralised Rebasable Stablecoin protocol for synthetic assets that will operate within the Polkadot ecosystem. It is also the first and only project from Korea to be awarded a Polkadot Web3 Foundation grant and prides itself on its global community growth approach.
  7. Seascape: With a focus on usability and quality, Seascape Network aims to create an environment that will allow users, developers and stakeholders to play, earn and share experiences in an incentivised way. The network is set to provide a method for self-education on blockchain and related finance in a fun and engaging way.
  8. Knit Finance: Knit Finance is a unique decentralized protocol for creating cross-chain wrappers for the top-200 crypto assets. It delivers bridges to ensure comfortable cross-chain fluidity of assets and allows institutions, developers, farmers, and traders to tap into trusted custody to mint Knit’s “K-Assets”.
  9. 0Chain: 0Chain is a high-performance decentralized storage network designed to eliminate business threats such as censorship, privacy liability and data breach. 0Chain helps entities achieve GDPR compliance, localization, tokenization and monetizes private data sharing.

Ecosystem Token Pool 2.0

After a successful year of DIA ecosystem growth, also due to the strategic allocation of the DIA Ecosystem Token Pool, we aim to further foster community and lab growth with an additional token release in order to further drive the adoption of transparent, open-access data and oracles.

To achieve these goals DIA Association in Q4 2021 will commit a further 12.5M DIA Governance Tokens from the total token supply in Q4 to the DIA Ecosystem Token Pool. The pool will be allocated to three specific categories:

  1. Incentivising DAO evolution in order to further foster the “D” in DIA, we will use a growing proportion for community engagement and decision making.
  2. Foster and support marketing and operational market growth of the token by funding data sourcing, data validation and platform development.
  3. Driving innovation by incentivising open-source development of DAO applications and DIA Labs partnerships.

DIA Labs 🔬

DIA announced the revamp of its innovation lab by expanding its development tracks, adding a new stellar mentor base under the principal lead, Ioana Surpateanu.

Partnerships:

  1. Open DeFi is a DeFi Ecosystem DAO, formed to generate long-term value by building and launching early-stage financial protocols, applications, tools, and infrastructure. The Open DeFi DAO supports and launches projects across all layer one ecosystems and explores DeFi markets surrounding new digital asset classes, including NFTs, data tokens and more.
  2. Poolz Finance is a fully decentralized, swapping protocol that enables startups and project owners to auction their tokens for bootstrapping liquidity. As the blockchain-cryptocurrency community moves closer to absolute decentralization, Poolz empowers innovators in their pre-listing phase, bringing them closer to early-stage investors.
  3. DuckDAO is a decentralized incubator that helps promising projects achieve their full potential by leveraging the investment power and buzz making potential of their community. DuckDAO aims to democratize access to investment opportunities that were previously available only to well-heeled investors and venture funds, opening up the closed ecosystem of early-stage crypto project investments to everybody.
