Inkslinger Magazine Newsletter #15
March 2023
Hello and welcome to my March 2023 newsletter! Yes, I know you just got the February one yesterday (because I forgot to send the Feb one out at the end of last month — my bad!).
This month I’ve written 11 more pieces for my ‘What If’ series — which are questions that I’m using as writing prompts for short pieces here on Medium and delving into my thoughts and dreams and desires and memories through those questions.
And then I wrote 3 other non fiction pieces — 2 of which are about my continuing weight loss journey that I’m currently on and will hopefully reach the end of in a mere 4 months! I’m amazed at how fast these first 2 months have gone by! I started my journey in earnest on February 10th and since then I’ve lost 14.5lbs in 50 days. Not too shabby if I may say so. It’s been a bit of a challenge requiring a bit of discipline, willpower and effort to eat healthier than I have been, but really, it hasn’t been as hard as I thought it would be, if I’m honest. I haven’t ever been hungry on this journey (I’m loathe to called it a ‘diet’ — instead I’ll call it a lifestyle change).
Why is it so darn easy to gain weight but a lot harder to lose it?! Sigh.
Anyway, my third non-fiction piece was a Matt Haig book review. I recently read his The Comfort Book and I got a lot out of it. It’s a book just full of his personal thoughts and insights and ramblings as someone who’s gone through deep depression and anxiety.
So without further ado, you can check out my ‘What If’ pieces below, or if you want to follow my weightloss/getting back to health pieces they’re below too.
