The VeVe waitlist drop system has hit the platform, giving collectors a new way to participate in VeVe drop days. We also officially welcomed the blockchain product and engineering team, released an OMI utility update, and added language localization to the app. Throw in the first-ever NFTs from New Zealand Post, the Las Vegas licensing expo, and VeVe collector spotlights — and we’ll forgive you if you missed anything in such a stellar month!

Interoperability and OMI Utility Update

In June VeVe released a short update about the current state of two blockchain-related topics- interoperability and OMI token utility.

Over the past few months, we have been onboarding a new blockchain product/engineering team whose sole focus is pushing forward the above initiatives and bringing greater focus and pace in delivering these items.

With development well underway, we would like to extend a big welcome to the new members of the team from all of us at ECOMI and VeVe, and we look forward to updating you on their progress. If you missed this update, you can catch it below.

We also released updated development objectives for the OMI token as we continue to align token utilities with the VeVe Master Collector Program (MCP). As many of you know, using and holding the token is intended to grant active VeVe Collectors added benefits and rewards while providing advantages that supercharge MCP Points accumulation.

In our Q2 objectives update, we announced our intent that OMI to NFT would be the first phase of utility for the token. The complexity of this utility means that we are still working on determining the best approach to this. In the meantime, we have re-prioritized the feature rollout to deliver token utilities more expediently.‍

OMI Reward Tiers

OMI Reward Tiers offer a tiered rewards system within the VeVe Master Collector Program. VeVe Collectors can participate in OMI Reward Tiers by holding OMI in a specified wallet (currently the VeVe Web Wallet). When fully implemented, participants will receive a range of in-app rewards, benefits, and perks for doing so.‍

The first phase of this utility will begin with ‘Season Zero’ and gives VeVe Collectors a way to utilize OMI to gain additional MCP points by depositing OMI into the VeVe Web Wallet.

Please remember that you will not earn additional MCP Points until this feature is available. However, you can choose to deposit your OMI into your web wallet at any time, provided you deposit them to Layer 2 first. ⚠️

VeVe Waitlist Drops v1

From the early days of VeVe, we have pioneered several drop systems and models, all of which have introduced a new way to participate in VeVe’s digital collectible releases. The “Waitlist” is the latest model to be introduced, which allows all users to add their name to a waitlist to secure a collectible reservation.

Joining a VeVe Waitlist Drop is simple and intuitive, and they now apply to individual collectible sales, blind boxes, and digital comic releases.

The waitlist opens 30 minutes before a scheduled drop time, and you must add your name to the list to participate. If you are lucky enough to secure a collectible reservation, you will have 15 minutes to complete the purchase, lest your collectible be returned to the public drop pool.

Anyone who does not secure a reservation or would like to collect more editions of a particular item (provided editions remain) can purchase them from the VeVe store after 15 minutes if/when they become available again.

VeVe Updates

The first phase rollout of push notifications is now live in the VeVe app, alerting you to upcoming drops alongside other notification improvements and optionality.

Waitlist v1 for comic releases has also been introduced, and language support (localization) has now been added to the app. At the time of writing VeVe Collectors can switch their language between English, Japanese, Spanish, and French, with additional languages to be added over time.

San Diego Comic-Con

At the top of the month, we also announced our return to San Diego Comic-Con with Marvel. We look forward to meeting more of the fam July 20–23 and celebrating all things Marvel digital collectibles with con-exclusive releases and giveaways so be sure to drop by and say hello if you’re attending this year's event!

VeVe Welcomes New Zealand Post

Stamp collectors were rewarded in June thanks to a new partnership with NZ Post.

New Zealand was one of the first countries in the world to put pictures of the countryside, birds, and animals on its stamps. These stamps became known as pictorials, and the first was issued on 5 April 1898, selected from around 2,400 that had been entered into a public competition.

Now the art from these historical collectible stamps is available as another world-first — New Zealand’s first NFT stamps — which were released on VeVe June 10. You can learn more about the New Zealand Post and our latest partnership in Corey’s breakdown video below if you missed it.

Marvel Studios- Thanos- Airdrop

In May, the first burn and craft event took place on VeVe, celebrating ~12 months of Infinity Stone releases culminating in the ability to power the Marvel Studios Infinity Gauntlet.

Collectors who added (crafted) all six Infinity Stones to the Infinity Gauntlet before 10 June 2023 at 11:59 PM PT were eligible for the Thanos — Philosopher airdrop, and those that crafted using the Secret Rare Eye of Agamotto were also airdropped a Thanos- Warrior digital collectible NFT.

We want to thank everyone who participated in this inaugural event and congratulate everyone who received the Thanos airdrops. We look forward to expanding this capability within the VeVe app to bring you more crafting opportunities in the future.

Marvel — Hulk

Speaking of airdrops, 3 out of 4 Hulks have now been released on VeVe, with both Maestro and Red Hulk hitting the platform in June.

As some of you may be aware, collecting all four Hulk variations will entitle the holder to an airdropped collectible, which is yet to be announced. If you missed any of the drops, you can check them out below or collect them in the VeVe Market.

  1. Classic Hulk
  2. Maestro
  3. Red Hulk

DC Comics — Darkseid

Darkseid is the twisted ruler of the planet Apokolips, a world dedicated to conquest and domination. He is one of the most feared and formidable foes in the DC Multiverse, possessing a wide range of powers, including the ability to project Omega Beams. With these energy blasts, he can focus on almost any object and disintegrate it with his vengeful gaze (and also bring it back to life to do it all over again)!

This first appearance collectible is now available on the platform with sound effects and animations thanks to Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc, including the infamous omega beams!

Disney 100- Platinum Moments Pixar Series

For 100 years, Walt Disney Animation Studios has filled the hearts of millions of dreamers worldwide with beloved characters, stories, and moments of wonder. VeVe’s platinum collection celebrates Disney's 100 Years of Wonder with some of Pixar’s most iconic characters.

The Platinum Moments Pixar Series showcases Nemo, Woody, and Miguel digital collectibles cast in brilliant platinum.

As a separate release — Boo’s Activated Door — from Monsters, Inc. can be opened and burnt if you hold one of these collectibles to redeem a Disney100 Platinum Poster NFT.

These stunning posters feature Nemo from Finding Nemo, Woody from Toy Story, and Miguel from Coco — and a touch of platinum. More information regarding the Disney100 Platinum Moments Boo’s Activated Door collectible is available here.
