Trekkies had their prayers answered in September with the first release of Star Trek: The Next Generation, alongside an absolutely packed schedule, with 8 digital comic drops and 3 premium NFT releases throughout the month. We have also welcomed new license partners The Little Prince and James Bond No Time to Die, joined a number of AMAs and community conversations, and of course- continue to bolster support for the OMI token!

Social Growth

The VeVe discord only eclipsed 20,000 members last month, and since then has rapidly expanded with more than 35,000 collectors now calling our community home. This expansion has continued across all platforms, as we welcome more than 14k new followers to VeVe Twitter (23% increase over August) and more than 7k new followers to VeVe Instagram (26% increase over august). 📸

ECOMI socials continue to hit the spotlight, with more than 8k new followers throughout September from more than 3.5 million impressions, and we continue to welcome new members to the fam, with more than 100 new members per day to ECOMI Telegram.

With more than 38,000 people in the TG community we understand it can be difficult to find new information, so if you’re not already part of our announcement channel please hit this link to join!

VeVe License Announcements

Two huge license partners were announced in September beginning with one of the best-selling books ever published, The Little Prince. VeVe will be bringing the imagery/characters of this tale to life as officially licensed digital collectibles, helping to spread the message of this timeless tale, and offering our French collectors a license that is a little closer to home.

“We are very humbled to work with one of the most revered novels of all time. The Little Prince has resonated among countless generations and we’re excited to offer collectors a new, unique way to engage with the storied tale and own digital collectibles that celebrate its legacy.”

— David Yu, CEO, VeVe

More recently we announced a partnership with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios & EON Productions to launch the first-ever digital collectibles for the 25th James Bond film, No Time To Die.

This announcement was quickly followed by a range of 007 drops on the platform, including iconic props, gadgets, posters, and vehicles. If you missed the announcement you can catch up on it below, and stay tuned for more 007 NFT drops throughout October!

VeVe Collectible Drops

Typically in the monthly wrap-up, we recount all of the drops and celebrate their success. Now, however, with drops hitting almost every day we will aim to highlight some of the more prominent releases, and suggest you subscribe to the VeVe blog if you truly want to stay on the edge of your seat!

Throughout September, there were 8 digital comic releases, beginning with Marvel Digital Comics #4 — What If, and rounding out with Marvel Digital Comics — Amazing Spider-Man #361, which also happens to be the first appearance of Carnage, the spawn of Venom!

Across the month we have also seen the first appearance of Star Trek: The Next Generation and the first appearance of Throg- from the Modern Marvels Series 2 release. These were complemented by the hotly anticipated Ron English Cereal Killers series 2, and Frank Kozik’s Labbits Series 2, which dropped on the last day of the month.

Ask Me Anything (AMA)

In case you’re new to the fam, every two weeks we run a live AMA from VeVe Twitter spaces, to help bring the community together and update you on our most pressing updates and developments.

In September we changed the structure of these conversations to make it easier for people to find the information they’re looking for. Moving forward we will aim to cover all of the big-ticket items in the first segment (~30 minutes), before opening the floor to community questions. You can also submit your questions ahead of time, whenever you see the AMA announcement post on VeVe Twitter.

Community Conversations

The sheer volume of conversations taking place in the ECOMI/VeVe community is astounding, and in September we have truly begun to see that momentum spread into the corners of the industry.

Thanks to a recent interview with Taps Trades, VeVe has recently made it onto the radar of Tom Bilyeu- host of Impact Theory, and Anthony Pompliano- host of the Pomp Podcast and one of the most recognized voices in the crypto space. In case you missed it, you catch the conversation below, with the NFT conversation starting around 1:10 min, and a VeVe mention from 1:14 min on.

In addition, the ECOMI/VeVe CEO, David Yu, recently joined the Talkin’ Shop podcast and stream to discuss the world of NFTs, their intersection with e-commerce, and the future of digital marketing and merchandising.

He followed this up with a great interview for the NFT Fest Australia, to discuss the future of collectibles and fandoms, with VeVe.

Women X VeVe

September was also the debut and takeover of the Women X VeVe, who have managed to sit down with both the team and some of our prominent community creators. If you missed any of them you can catch them all below:

VeVe Collectors Chat

To celebrate the second series release of Frank Kozik's Labbits, Rhys, Alex, and David jumped into the VeVe Collectors Clubhouse to have a chat with the fam, and catch up with Frank himself.

The conversation was also joined by Mitch from Mondo and Jermaine Rogers, and Frank also released limited edition NFTs on Opensea throughout the evening to celebrate the launch of Labbits series 2. Congratulations to anyone who picked one up!

In case you missed it you can catch the conversation below, and please show your support for the VeVe Collectors Clubhouse Chat if you’re not already a member 🗣

Digital Comics in Augmented Reality

After launching Digital comic NFTs for the first time in August, we recently upgraded the entire experience as the AR comic reader went live! With this new update, you can now read your VeVe digital comics in the ‘real world’ using augmented reality, adding a new dimension to your digital comic experience!

This is the first iteration of the AR reader capabilities, and the development team is currently working on a ‘tilt’ feature that will enable you to read your favorite comics vertically in AR. We’ll update you on its progress in the coming weeks. For more information on the AR comic reader, and how to enable it, check out the VeVe update article.

VeVe App Updates

In case you missed it, we have now added/released more detailed information alongside each new app release, which you can find in your app stores. Some recent updates include:

  • Floor prices, and the price you paid for a collectible, can now be seen on the collectible/comic information screen.
  • You can now navigate directly to Market listings from your collectible screen
  • We’ve doubled the character limit in the profile so you can create the perfect bio
  • Refactored notification system

Coming soon:

  • Switcher bar being removed and comics more fully integrated into the home screen
  • Ongoing updates to collectible listings and sorting, including additional filtering options

VeVe Discord Language Groups

We want to take a moment to truly thank all of our moderators and VeVe discord community members that have helped to shape such an incredible community. With their help, we have been able to launch both a Spanish and French language channel in September, with plans to add additional language support moving forward 🇪🇸 🇫🇷

If you’re not already part of the VeVe Discord server head there now to join the conversation!

Immutable X

The migration of the entire ECOMI/VeVe ecosystem to Ethereum (via Immutable X) has officially begun. Over the coming weeks, we will continue to release updated information and instructions to walk you through the process, and want to remind everyone that there is no participation required until phase 3, and that is only if you hold OMI tokens.

If you are solely a VeVe platform user, your app experience will continue largely uninterrupted. For more information see our roll-out plan below:
