Hey Everyone,
We wanted to share some of the things we are most proud of from 2021 (Edge’s second year in business). As always, thank you for following along on this journey.
Lina and Sidney
Founders, Edge Analytics
What does Edge Analytics do?
Edge Analytics is a data science consulting company. Edge was born out of a simple desire to work with our friends and do things together that make a positive difference in the world. We are a team of ten ML engineers who partner with companies to ship cutting-edge algorithms.
What a year! Here are some highlights.
We created a lot of content this year!
- 100+ Social Media Posts (Not following us yet? Please follow us on LinkedIn and Twitter!)
- 15 Blogs, including our FPGA sleep tracker. Check out our Medium publication.
We started the Edge Incubator and spun out our first company.
At our summer retreat this year, we brainstormed growth opportunities for Edge and discussed how cool it would be to incubate novel technologies and startup companies. Well… six months later, we’re happy to announce that we successfully incubated and spun out our first company — Infinity AI.
Infinity AI is a product company that generates synthetic data for machine learning teams (check out the press release!). Infinity worked with multiple customers, published a paper at a NeurIPS workshop, gave an invited talk at Duke, and successfully closed a seed round in VC funding!
We had a lot of fun!
Five new people joined the Edge team this year (Brinnae, Daniel, Andrew Mark, Henry, and Carmen) — read about their amazing backgrounds on our website. We had a summer and winter retreat (check out this 1min retreat highlight video) and hosted multiple game nights and continuous learning sessions.
We worked on innovative products with amazing partners.
Here are just a few of the amazing products we worked on in 2021.
FDA submission, successful patient trials, and more!
Cionic, a major partner that helps people transcend physical limitations, hit many big milestones this year. Cionic announced the Cionic Neural Sleeve, submitted an FDA 510k application, and conducted feasibility studies with patients (demonstrating 143% improvement in gait). Do you know someone with a mobility challenge like stroke, multiple sclerosis, or cerebral palsy? Invite them to sign up for patient trials here.
Launch of a novel NLP product
We partnered with inVibe, a cutting-edge company that is transforming market research, to launch a new product using GPT-3. Be sure to follow inVibe on LinkedIn and contact them for your next research project.
Consumer Product with Fortune 500 Company
We continued close collaboration with one of our major partners to build algorithms and firmware infrastructure for a consumer product. The product is getting closer to mass manufacturing, and we can’t wait to see people using it all around the world.
Advanced Health Sensing Product
Çava, one of our long-term partners, closed a successful $500k WeFunder campaign to continue building the most advanced toilet seat ever built (check out Lina and Sidney in the overview video)
Authentication Algorithms
Another one of our partners, Origyn, raised $20M dollars to continue leveraging AI and decentralized technologies to guarantee the authenticity of luxury items (watches, art, jewelry, and more)
We also worked on a range of other projects from digital twins to remote fitness, synthetic media to genetics, and self-supervised ML techniques to game engines. We are looking forward to more exciting work in 2022 and hope to have you along for the ride!
