PR in 2018 is about more that copy and contacts. It takes a great brand with genuine authenticity to #standout.

With all of the places to put content around the web, there’s simply no way everyone is seeing it all. In fact, they’re likely seeing a tiny fraction.

Because of social media, we’ve picked up some bad habits in PR. For example, many people are sharing content, reporting stats, and then washing their hands of it. Ever find yourself sharing an announcement to the fragmented world of social networks or email lists and then considering your job done after publish?

Wouldn’t it be nice if there was a place where all your efforts culminate and were archived for the next website visitor, researching journalist, or customer to discover?

If you’re answer is, “I have a blog,” you’re missing the mark. Blogs are fine, but they struggle to capture those amazing Instagram snaps from your fans or the great article or review you received on a news site. With your blog, you’re essentially taking something really cool and trying to aggregate it into something well, not so engaging.

We developed Newsboard to solve this problem. We wanted to harness and archive all of our best and most relevant content into one place where it can be accessed at anytime.

It’s a new way to curate relevant content about your brand into a single hub for your own media properties — like your website or press page.

Imagine if you didn’t have to create a new Wordpress blog post every time you wanted to add something to your website. What if you could simply “pin” a link and it’s published to your own website? That’s the idea behind Newsboard.

Here’s an example from our Pitchengine #Standout, Doughnut Lounge, in Kansas City (You can read more about them on our #Standouts blog).

Scrolling through, you’ll notice stories from several social sources like Facebook, Youtube, Instagram as well as news coverage from media websites and releases from Pitchengine.

Newsboard is a great way to:

A) Curate relevant content into a single page for your website

B) Show off your value as a PR pro by displaying coverage and content in one place

C) Replace dated news pages or blogs

D) Update a brand’s (or client’s) website without logging into Wordpress or similar
