As you can see in our new video introduction above, 2019 is the “Year of the Bufficorn.”

From February 15–17, 2019, ETHDenver is proud to be back at the Sports Castle for our second annual #BUIDLATHON and Community Gathering. You may have noticed that we’ve rebranded slightly for 2019 in honor of the Bufficorn’s cry of “#BUIDL!” Much like the Bufficorn, who are known for collaborating in almost everything they do, we too value a community-based ethos to #BUIDL blockchain technology together with you, our decentralized cohorts. We are excited to unite individuals from around the globe to #BUIDL blockchain based solutions for real-world issues like voter fraud, sovereign identity, tokenizing real estate, supply chain management, IOT, sharing energy, and even blood donation testing and tracking.

Applications for ETHDenver 2019 are open on our website.

This year, there is an entire week of events open to the public February 11–14 leading up to #BUIDLATHON weekend. #BUIDL Week Colorado will feature demonstrations, speakers, panels, and workshops throughout the state to empower and educate Colorado’s growing blockchain community. The actual #BUIDLATHON, where hacking (or “buidling” as industry insiders call it) takes place, will start on Friday, February 15 and continue for 36 hours until judging takes place on Sunday, February 17. ETHDenver will be followed by a retreat in the Rocky Mountains from February 18–20. We’re very excited to share all of these pieces of our 2019 schedule, and to continue shaping this new world together while also cementing Colorado as a thriving hub for Ethereum blockchain technology.

As I recently announced at ETHSanFrancisco, Andreas M. Antonopoulos, prolific public speaker and author of Mastering Ethereum, will give a keynote address and judge the hackathon at the 2019 #BUIDLATHON. Joseph Lubin of ConsenSys, Ryan Selkis of Messari, and Erik Voorhees of ShapeShift have also confirmed, and ETHDenver will be announcing more speakers and judges in the coming months.

A piece from ETHDenver 2018.

ETHDenver 2018 welcomed 1,500 attendees, 750 hackers from 31 U.S. states and 23 countries, and saw 170 projects created. Though our community only had the chance to spend a couple of days together, many of you have reached out to let us know that as a result of the people, mentorship, and innovation at ETHDenver 2018, you’re now continuing amazing work in the blockchain space. We’ve started featuring these stories on our social channels in a series called #BeABufficorn where we chat with individuals from the community about what they’ve been up to since ETHDenver 2018. Some have started meetups, their own companies, or have found themselves working in the blockchain space with their dream team at places like MakerDAO, ConsenSys, and others. It’s reasons like these that motivate us to make 2019’s ETHDenver #BUIDLATHON and Community Gathering even more impactful and fun. Make sure to keep up with these stories on our socials, and please reach out to us if you’d like to share yours.

ETHDenver is 100% sponsor-funded and our event is 100% free for all those who attend to #BUIDL. Some of the sponsors making our 2019 event possible include ShapeShift, ConsenSys, KeepKey, Opolis, Status, POA Network, The National Cyber Security Center and The Graph.

So today is the day! Applications for ETHDenver 2019 are now open and can be accessed on our website. Give our socials a follow for the latest #BUIDLATHON updates on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Medium. And if you like what we’re doing, share this news with a friend.

Let’s #BUIDL together. Bufficorns, unite!
